You have been dreaming of her for a long time. She passes by you and it is impossible to concentrate on your work. You become nervous and over conscious during your business presentation because she is watching you. Your eyes are always searching for her in the heavy crowd. It is hard to think of anything else when she is around. You seem your life to be fully ‘In Control’ of her thoughts. In short, you are “Infatuated”. 

There is no fixed rule why people become infatuated. If we believe psychologists, we have to believe that most people get into infatuation when they need a relation. On the contrary, there are numerous examples when people become infatuated even after marriage or when they are in a healthy relationship. So, there is no fixed age or rule for it. Probably, we human beings are made that way. So, it is absolutely normal and natural to become infatuated. 

How does being infatuated affect us? For most of the people, it is complete bad experience. In my college days, I was infatuated to this guy, who looked just awesome. His way of talking, personality and sense of humor was second to none. I could never gather courage to express my feelings to him; however, this short term infatuation affected me so much in numerous ways.  

I could not concentrate on my studies and scored very poor grades in my final exams. Within six months, I started performing badly in my monthly exams as well and got into depression after nearly a year. So, for me, it was a complete disaster. As the time went by, I came in touch with a lot of people and realized that it was a disaster for many others too. 

However, I am over it, but I had to pay for it. How much are YOU ready to pay for your infatuation? 

You can never get the moments of your life back once you spend them foolishly. Infatuation has a lot of things to offer. It offers loneliness, depression, daydreaming, lack of focus and a nice way to kill your precious time. Now it is up to you if you at least realize that you should come out of it.
